Night Light Festival + Mexican Dinner

Join Adventure Calgary for dinner, drinks, new people, and one of Calgary’s most visually spectacular nights of the year!

We’ll begin with dinner at Tropical Downtown, our main restaurant for the evening. Tropical is a vibrant Latin restaurant and nightlife destination known for its colourful atmosphere, Latin-fusion food, signature cocktails, and celebratory energy. It’s the perfect social setting to meet the group and get to know some new people before we explore the festival.

Important dinner assignment information: Tropical Downtown is our main dinner location. Once our available seating there fills, additional attendees will be assigned to Native Tongues Taqueria nearby. Native Tongues is an award-winning, Mexico City-inspired taqueria and mezcaleria known for tacos, antojitos, mariscos, handcrafted cocktails, and its lively cantina atmosphere.

We will contact you before the event and tell you which restaurant you have been assigned to. Please check your event messages before arriving and go directly to your assigned restaurant. Splitting dinner between two nearby venues allows us to welcome a larger group comfortably. The split applies only to dinner. Everyone from both restaurants will reunite afterward and experience Night Light together as one group.

At 7:45 PM, both dinner groups will meet outside Calgary Public Library’s Memorial Park Library on the 2 Street SW side. This is our shared meeting point before entering the festival. If you miss dinner or run late, please meet us directly at the library at 7:45 PM.

From there, we’ll explore Night Light, a free outdoor festival that transforms Victoria Park into a glowing landscape of art, technology, performance, and discovery. Expect projection-mapped architecture, illuminated sculptures, interactive light installations, live performances, and work from local, national, and international artists throughout a walkable section of the neighbourhood.

We’ll move through the festival together, stop for photos, and explore whatever catches our attention. You can stay with the main group or wander at your own pace once we’re inside. Our organized group portion will run until approximately 10:00 PM, but Night Light continues until 11:00 PM for anyone who wants to stay longer.

Cost: Night Light itself is completely free. Your Adventure Calgary ticket covers your place in our organized social group and our organizer fee. Food, drinks, parking, and transportation are not included. Everyone orders and pays for their own dinner and drinks. Adventure Calgary VIP members can join at no additional charge.

Please arrive at your assigned restaurant no later than 6:00 PM so we can order, enjoy dinner without rushing, and meet the other group on time. Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a warm layer because most of Night Light takes place outdoors and September evenings can become chilly.

Come on your own or bring a friend. Dinner gives everyone an easy opportunity to meet before we head into the lights together. Expect great food, a lively social atmosphere, incredible photo opportunities, and a completely different view of Calgary after dark!
